Master of Science in Finance – Student Benefits

The Loyola Master of Science in Finance (MSF) degree will help you achieve your professional goals. Not only will students join a network of successful alumni in Chicago and around the world, but they will thoroughly enjoy their experience at Loyola and emerge transformed.

With extensive industry experience, our expert instructors recognize the need to balance theory and analytical skills. The course curriculum is designed to offer a hands-on approach to finance. Students enrolled in our MS Finance degree program learn how to manage everyday challenges faced by finance managers. They also master specialized skills in corporate governance and risk management. Whether employed by a financial consulting firm, banking and finance corporation, insurance company or a government institution, the practical learning at Loyola takes students’ careers to the next level.

MS Finance students also have the opportunity to pursue a dual degree, combining an MBA with the MSF. Both degrees can be earned with 4 courses less than if each degree is earned independently. Finance professionals who opt for the dual degree early in their studies get a head start over others. The breadth and depth of knowledge covered by the MBA and MS Finance degrees puts these individuals on a different level of distinction in the job market. Our dual degree alumni hold prestigious positions in investment banking, financial brokerage, commercial banks, management consulting and the top financial institutions from around the world.

Here are some of the highlights of our MS Finance degree program:

• Courses are tailored to the leadership roles and challenges faced by financial professionals.

• Students have the option of choosing between two concentrations with separate programs of study to build and enhance expertise.

• Rolling admissions allow a student to begin the program at the outset of any of four quarters and choose either full-time or part-time study.

• Graduates join an impressive network of successful alumni, many of whom have achieved leadership positions and the majority of whom work and reside in the Chicago area.
