Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program

Faculty Mentors

The faculty mentor plays an integral role in the McNair Scholars Program. Faculty mentors are expected to assist students with academic advising; provide professional interaction and support; write letters of recommendation; and otherwise assist the students in the formulation of professional goals related to advanced study.

We envision the role of the faculty mentor as assisting the scholar in professional socialization into the discipline.
