Undergraduate Studies CatalogCENTER FOR INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAMS (CIP)Lake Shore Campus:
The Center for Interdisciplinary Programs (CIP) of the College of Arts and Sciences houses many programs that offer undergraduate minors in: Asian Studies
CIP embraces an active, academic approach that stresses synthesis, cooperation and dialogue. In today’s globalized society, distinct lines between academic disciplines have become blurred. Students and faculty researchers, no longer constrained by one perspective, now are free to explore topic areas that span disciplines and viewpoints. Not only does CIP recognize and support the varying and valuable perspectives brought to higher education through Black World Studies, Latin American Studies, Asian and Asian American Studies, and Women’s Studies programs, it also provides a synthesis of material in the exploration of such global topics as peace, the environment, international studies and religion and culture. This synthesis promises to become the backbone of a new educational approach in the 21st century. Back to Undergraduate Studies Main |
