UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION

Information for New Freshmen and transfers

If you have a friend or relative who’s interested in attending Loyola University Chicago as a new freshman or transfer student, here are some basic tips to help them learn more about the university, complete and application or get more information from the Undergraduate Admission Office or other offices in the university.

Visiting Loyola
We welcome visitors to Loyola University Chicago Mondays through Fridays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., and on Saturdays at the Lake Shore Campus between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. We recommend that you schedule your visit by making an appointment at least two weeks prior to your intended visit date. General group admission presentations are offered daily; individual appointments for high school senior applicants and transfer students also are available. During your tour, you can meet with representatives from Undergraduate Admission and the Office of Student Financial Assistance; tour the Lake Shore Campus; and during regular class days, sit in on a class and meet with faculty.

Campus tours are available Mondays through Saturday at the Lake Shore Campus and in a freshman residence hall. Water Tower Campus tours take place Monday through Friday. Overnight visits can be scheduled for seniors on a space availability basis.

Applying for admission
Since we review applications on a rolling admission basis, we recommend that you apply for admission to Loyola as early as possible in your senior year of high school, or as soon as you know that you’d like to transfer. It’s best to apply no later than the deadlines (listed below). Applications completed after those dates may receive consideration, as space permits.

Financial Assistance
February 15, 2002 Date by which FAFSA application must be mailed to the federal processor

March 1, 2002 Date by which the FAFSA application must be received by the federal processor to receive a financial aid award in advance of May 1 Intent to Enroll reply date.
