Army ROTC Scholarships
What does it offer:
- Full Tuition and Fees or Room and Board
- $1200 / year for books
- Monthly stipend for living expenses:
$300 freshman/$350 sophomore/$450 junior/$500 senior
Where can you go to school:
- More than 300 Colleges and universities across the nation
- In Chicagoland: UIC, Loyola, DePaul, Robert Morris, Illinois Institute of Technology, CSU, IUN, North Park, Northwestern, Columbia College, Roosevelt University, St Xavier, NEIU, Purdue Calumet, and several more
What you need to be eligible:
– 2.5 GPA coming out of HS; 2.5 Cumulative GPA once in college
– 19 ACT or 920 SAT minimum
– At least 17 years old and younger than 31 on Dec 31 of the year you complete ROTC and graduate from college
– US Citizen
– Medically qualified
– Pass the Army Physical Fitness Test
– Good Moral character
– No Civil Convictions
– Single or married with no more than 3 dependants
What can you study:
– Nearly anything leading to a 4 year undergraduate degree
– Liberal Arts and Humanities
– Engineering
– Physical Sciences
– Nursing
– Premed:
Health Professional Scholarship Program (HPSP) can pay for Med School
How do you apply:
– Current High School Students: online at http://www.goarmy.com/rotc/hs_four_year_scholarship.jsp
– Deadline to start is 1 December of your senior year of High School
– Deadline to have all required materials to Cadet Command is 28 February
– If you miss the 1 December deadline during your HS senior year, or you are currently enrolled in college, apply for a campus-based scholarship through the Army ROTC program on the campus you wish to attend.
What is your obligation upon graduation and commissioning:
– Serve as an Officer in the US Army on active duty, in the USAR, or in the National Guard
– Serve 4 years active duty and 4 years in the inactive or active reserves
– Or serve 8 years actively drilling in the US Army Reserves or National Guard
