Spiritual Exercises

Welcome to an experience of God's Grace in the midst of our busy lives: the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life.
The Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life is a year-long experiential retreat open to faculty, staff, administrators, and graduate students of Loyola University Chicago. The retreat can be done by busy people while they are managing their busy lives. We welcome people of various backgrounds and religious traditions.
The Spiritual Exercises are an unfolding series of prayers, meditations and reflections put together by St. Ignatius of Loyola out of his own personal spiritual experience and that of others to whom he listened. St. Ignatius wrote the manual of The Spiritual Exercises as a guide to those engaged in making them. They honor the uniqueness of each retreatant and lead him/her into a deeper relationship with self, God, and others. Today, we are proud to continue to offer this centerpiece of Ignatian Spirituality to the Loyola community. The retreat begins at the beginning of the academic year and finishes at the end of the spring term.
