The Music Program proudly announces its schedule for the 2008 Spring Semester. All performances are held in the Mundelein Center Auditorium unless otherwise noted.
SPRING SEMESTER 2008
Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band
Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 7:30pm
The Loyola Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band will present their spring concert, "Saide, Sevens, and Seniors," on Tuesday April 15, 2008 at 7:30pm in the Mundelein Center Auditorium. Faculty member and Director of Bands Mark A. Taylor will lead the Jazz Band in a set of timeless jazz standards, including Horace Silver's "Sister Sadie." The Wind Ensemble will perform an intriguing and varied program including Samuel Hazo's new work for band, "Sevens," Alfred Reed's monumental "Armenian Dances," along with other works by Elgar and Ticheli. Graduating seniors from the two bands will be recognized for their services with a performance of the university's Alma Mater.

Chorus, Orchestra
Monday, April 21, 2008 at 7:30pm
Join Loyola's Chorus and Orchestra for a special concert, with guest performer Robert Hardford, the Lyric Opera Orchestra's Concert Master on Monday April 21, 2008 at 7:30pm. The musical sounds will soar gloriously in the newly restored Madonna della Strada Chapel.
Robert Hardford is currently concertmaster of the Lyrica Opera Orchestra. Previously, Mr. Hardford was the Associate Principal Second Violinist of the Minnesota Orchestra. He has also been a member of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Chicago's Grant Park Symphony . He has appeared as soloist on many occasions with both the Minnesota Orchestra and the Milwaukee Symphony.
