Outcomes Performance Management Certificate Program
The principal goal of the Outcomes Performance Management Certificate Program is to prepare a cadre of health-care leaders with the knowledge and skills to design and implement systems that produce desired health outcomes. Increased national concerns about health-care safety and effectiveness makes this understanding and ability essential for leaders in 21st century health-care organizations. Students will learn to create a business case for quality, examine the relationship between policy development and performance management, understand a variety of measurement techniques, design a quality infrastructure in their organization, and apply current best evidence and consumer requirements to developing standards for quality.
The Outcomes Performance Management Certificate Program is designed for registered nurses (with bachelor's degrees), physicians, dietitians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and others who wish to advance their knowledge of theories, models and methods that are used to improve health care. Students will gain an understanding of national and local perspectives on quality and health-care policy issues as well as skills in application of the various methods and processes of performance improvement. Students will learn to redesign health-care processes, use information technology, develop effective health-care teams, coordinate care, and enact performance and outcome measurement. Most courses meet in the evening at Loyola's Water Tower Campus on North Michigan Avenue or at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.

Entering students will be assessed regarding data management competencies, and courses will be selected to match each student's abilities and goals.
