Loyola Nurse Awarded $150,000 from Prestigious American Cancer Society

Dr. Dina Tell, research associate in the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, was awarded a prestigious American Cancer Society postdoctoral fellowship for $150,000.

Dr. Tell will conduct a bio-behavioral research project in breast cancer under the mentorship of Dr. Linda Janusek in conjunction with Dr. Janusek's ongoing National Cancer Institute R01 grant. Dr. Tell's fellowship will provide an opportunity for advanced training focused on clarifying bio-behavioral and epigenetic processes that link early life adversity with cancer-associated symptoms across the cancer trajectory (i.e., diagnosis through survivorship).

Dr. Dina Tell recently completed a National Cancer Institute fellowship under the direction of Dr. Janusek and the ACS fellowship will allow her to extend this work. Dr. Janusek is a member of the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, Department of Health Promotion.
