Chicago, IL 60611M - Official Transcripts: Applicants must submit official transcripts for all nursing diploma and undergraduate work. Certified copies of transcripts are acceptable; faxed copies of transcripts are not considered official. If you attended Loyola University Chicago previously, you do not need to request Loyola transcripts; we have them on record. Transcripts should show completion of a basic course in statistics and physical assessment.
- Three Letters of Recommendation: Applicants must submit three professional recommendations. All recommendations must be submitted by nurses with a master's degree or higher. If possible, at least one recommendation should be from a nursing professor. These recommendations should be one page in length, detail the reasons why the recommender thinks you would be a good fit for the program, and explain why (based on experiences with you) the recommender believes you will be successful in a graduate nursing program.
If you supply your recommenders email address as part of your completed online application form, then your recommendation letters may be submitted online. Or, your recommenders may choose to mail them to:

We ask that you submit only three letters, no more, no less.
- A Personal Statement: Your statement should be double-spaced and should respond to the following topics:
1. Describe how your work experiences and professional interests have prepared you to be successful in the specific graduate track to which you have applied.
2. Discuss how completing the specific graduate track that you have selected will help you meet your professional goals and career plans.
- Test Scores: The GRE is required for all applicants whose cumulative GPA earned in the associate degree or diploma nursing program is less than 3.0. Loyola's GRE school code is 1412. Applicants with a cumulative GPA above a 3.0 do not have to submit GRE scores.
- Current Nursing License: Students, including international students, must hold a current RN license from a U.S. state and be eligible for endorsement in Illinois.
- Application Fee: A $50 application fee is required for applications submitted by mail. If you complete the online application form, the application fee is waived.
