MSN and DNP Scholarships
Students enrolled in School of Nursing graduate programs may be eligible for the scholarships listed below. Scholarships are divided into three categories; Internal Scholarships (Loyola University Chicago/School of Nursing), Nursing Organization Scholarships, and State/National Scholarships.
Kim Noonan Scholarship – This scholarship fund was created to provide support for advanced nursing education to a registered nurse who exemplifies the spirit of the award - a unique enthusiasm for life and the ability to impart courage to patients facing the challenge of illness. One $6,000 scholarship will be awarded to a MSN student who has a minimum of 2 semesters remaining in the graduate program.
The Westlake Nursing Scholarship and The Honorable Thomas A. Hett Scholarship – These two scholarships provide funding to MNSON students in order to enhance health and health care in the communities of West Suburban Cook County. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate nursing program at Loyola University Chicago’s Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing and provide proof of residency for the past three years in West Suburban Cook County.
Nursing Organization Scholarships
Nurses Educational Funds (NEF), Inc. - NEF awards baccalaureate prepared registered nurses who are in need of nursing scholarship assistance for graduate study. Learn more at the NEF website.
Nurse Practitioner Healthcare Foundation Scholarship (NPHF) - NPHF has 2 scholarships and 9 awards available. Further information can be found on the NPHF website.
Oncology Nursing Society Foundation, Master’s Scholarships – The ONS Foundation provides scholarships to registered nurses who are interested in and committed to oncology nursing to continue their education by pursuing a master’s degree in nursing. Scholarships are awarded annually at $3,000 each.
U.S. Department of Health & Human Services/NURSE Corps – The HRSA Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP) and Nursing Scholarship Program (NSP) have a new name and identity. These programs now fall under NURSE Corps: Caring for Communities in Need. NURSE Corps gives nurses nationwide the opportunity to turn their passion for service into a lifelong career through the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program and the NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program, NURSE Corps empowers and enables nurses to follow their passion for helping and healing others.
American Cancer Society, Graduate Scholarships in Cancer Nursing Practice - The American Cancer Society Cancer Nursing Practice scholarships supports graduate students pursuing a master's degree in cancer nursing or doctorate of nursing practice (DNP). Awards may be for two years, with stipend of $10,000 per year.
Schweitzer Fellowship - The Chicago Area Schweitzer Fellows Program is a one-year interdisciplinary fellowship program focused on community service, leadership development, and reflection. Graduate and professional students from Chicago area schools obtaining degrees in health related fields are eligible to apply.
