Vietnam: June 2-12, 2008
Vietnam has been a site of administrative exploration of potential Loyola involvement, particularly in health professional education and ESL. This trip provided time for Loyola faculty and staff to broaden their knowledge of Vietnamese civic, religious, and educational life. The packed itinerary included a tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, a cruise on the Perfume River, and a visit to an orphanage in Danang. Joseph Dao coordinated logistics, and Dr. Ted Karamanski, Professor of History, led the group in Vietnam.

Peru: May 12-21, 2008
This trip focused on Jesuit educational activities in Peru. Lectures by professors and administrators from the Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya (UARM) helped participants come to an appreciation of Peruvian cultural and social realities. The participants spent time in Lima, Cusco, and the fabled Machu Picchu. Lorena Borgo coordinated the logistics, and Dr. Patrick Boyle, Associate Provost, led the trip.
East Africa: May 12-21, 2008
This group visited Uganda to focus on the educational, social, and humanitarian work of Global Alliance for Africa. Loyola and Global Alliance have an ongoing relationship dedicated to supporting people in East Africa. This trip was led by Jack McLean, with logistics by Tom Derdak of The Global Alliance for Africa.
