Home of the Chicago Whitesox: The Show

-By Maureen Sanchez

The Show is a place where people can go to spend an energetic, yet relaxing night out with friends. Customers encounter a cool social environment, where they can watch a baseball game and indulge on a cold brew with friends.

The Show carries a variety of high-quality imported and domestic bottled and tap beer and free popcorn!

There are many entertaining things to do at The Show. People can enjoy a game of pool with friends, satisfy their competitive urge with darts, or even enjoy watching a baseball game at any angle. More than your occasional bar where it only covers one baseball game. There are 12 stools at the bar. But don't let that stop you! There are plenty of tables for groups of friends to enjoy.

"I don't like that bar scene anymore. It's not my thing to do. But I like The Show. There's a great scene and I get to do what I do best [play pool]," says former bar hopper, 28 year-old Edward Yurco says,

"I've been coming here for years. I love the cheap brew they serve and I cannot help but say that the guys over here are pretty hot too," says Elisabeth Ramero, a 21 year-old college student.

Besides sports there also is music. Well, the music establishes a jagged, strong tone of masculine sportsmanship. A juke box filled with tunes of alternative to rock music, such as Incubus to Smashing Pumpkins.

There is no cover charge at the door, you do not have to pay for parking, and drinks are not expensive. Drinks range from $2 to $6, or a pitcher of beer from $10 to $12.

The Show is open from Sunday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. It is located at 3503 S. Halsted, right off the Red line train to Sox/35th Street, or the CTA bus 8-halsted, 35-35th Street.
