"We refer to ourselves as the
village in the city," says Willie Winters, executive director
of Beverly Area Planning Association.
"It is a diverse community that
has maintained it's strength," Winters says.
"It is a family-friendly neighborhood
with low crime, good schools, and beautiful houses."
Beverly is bordered by 87th Street,
119th Street, California Avenue, Vincennes Avenue and Beverly
Avenue. Those borders also include the area known as Morgan Park.
Beverly boasts much architectural history including houses designed
by Frank Lloyd Wright and Walter Burley Griffin.
The area houses plenty of parks,
schools, and recreational opportunities.
Most houses are single-family size
and are selling for an average of $176,000. Beverly is accessible
through the Metra Rock Island Line and is about 30 minutes from
the Loop.
