Bucktown: The Bucktown neighborhood is filled with surprises. Not only has it been recognized for its intrinsic style, but likewise for its vibrant melody of sound heard across the streets of Damen and Western. This upscale neighborhood, which is located along the corners of California, Armitage, and Clybourn is slightly more affordable than other communities.

Homes range from $250,00-$325,000. And it is not uncommon to see long-time city residents sweeping their front steps, conversing with neighbors, or walking dogs. Bucktown is conveniently accessible and only 15 minutes from downtown Chicago and from O'Hare Airport. The community is still home to the third largest concentration of resident artists in the country.

Several churches and temples still conduct services in the language of early immigrants such as Polish, Spanish, and Ukrainian.

Ward Information: Alderman Richard F. Mell (33) 3649 N. Kedzie Ave. Chicago, IL 60618 Rmell@cityofchicago.org 773-478-8040
