Garfield Park was open in 1871. While it was originally named Central Park, in 1881 it was renamed in honor of President James Garfield. Garfield Park is the home to the Garfield Conservatory which is one of the largest glass buildings in the world as well as to the Gold Dome building set on Garfield Park's Lagoon. Here visitors can find boating opportunities or just a nice place to relax. Garfield Park is bounded by Chicago, Lawrence, Kostner and Kedzie Avenues.
