Executive Director of Mount
Greenwood Local Redevelopment, Mary Kiedrow refers to Mt.
Greenwood as a "city peninsula." Bordered by 103rd Street, 115th
Street, Sacramento Avenue, and Pulaski Road, it is almost completely
surrounded by the suburbs.
"Mt. Greenwood is basically a single
family community with a high percentage of city workers," Kiedrow
says.
The community is home to Marist
High School and St. Xavier University.
Mt. Greenwood homes typically run
for an average of 128,000. Also, the area is commutable to the
city. The Metra Rock Island makes five stops within Greenwood
and CTA buses also have routes that run through the neighborhood.
