North Park is a northern
neighborhood bounded by the Chicago River, Foster, St. Louis,
Bryn Mawr and Kedzie and was originally occupied by German and
Swedish settlers. It is home to North Park College as well as
Northeastern Illinois University.
North Park contains many large
homes and very few apartments except those around the college
and university. The average price of a single-family home was
$239,000.
Several CTA bus routes serve North
Park and Lake Shore Drive and I-90/94 are only about a 15 minute
drive away.
The 39th Ward of the city, particularly
North Park, boasts a variety of ethnic cuisines as well.
