Adeena Haque
AED, as an organization based on service to others, needs to be able to
communicate well with its members, in order to help them serve as well
as to serve the members themselves. Next year, the newsletter will be
the basis for this communication, hopefully. As such, a great amount of
responsibility will given to the Newsletter Chair, who needs to be able
to handle it in a reliable fashion. I feel that I would be very well fit for the requirements of this position.

I am a Freshman, but I have attended most of the general meetings, events, and fulfilled community service this past year and continue to do so to the present. I am very organized; I have never had trouble finding where things are, approaching a task in a step-by-step manner, or prioritizing what needs to be accomplished. Putting together a newsletter requires all of these abilities and more, which I will do my best to provide. I am able to handle class work and volunteer work at the same time, but I am not so tied up that I would not be able to fulfill all duties of the Newsletter Chair. I would definitely be able to organize information on events, research, professions, and get advice from relevant sources in a coherent and interesting newsletter.

AED has helped me immensely by providing so much valuable information
and interesting perspectives. I would love to contribute and help members in the future. There is so much potential for AED to grow and to be an even more successful organization, and through the newsletter, I want to be a part of making that happen.

Sarah Sharief
I feel that I am qualified for the AED newsletter chair position because of my history in relevant positions. In high school, I was president of two clubs and also an editor on the school newspaper. In these positions, I was responsible for running the clubs, keeping track of all the different activities that we did and getting back to both teachers and students very promptly and these are all qualities that are to be valued in a newsletter chairperson. At Loyola, I have been working at Human Resources as a student worker. This job meant that I have to work with both faculty and staff members and help organize the annual events held by our office and this also has enhanced my strengths.

One of the main reasons I wanted to get involved in the AED e-board is because I really think that this is one of the better pre-health organizations on campus. Frankly, I did not know of its existence in my freshman year and the pre-health organizations I was involved in during that time did not do much to enhance my understanding of the field like AED has. I joined AED only this year and really liked the set-up and am proud to say that I am an active member. Basically, the responsibilities of a newsletter chair are parallel to what I have been doing for a long time and therefore, I think I am very qualified for this position.

Mauli Shah
My name is Mauli Shah and currently I am a freshman at Loyola University
studying Biology. I hope by being an active member of AED, I will be able to gain valuble insight from health professionals and gain indispensible experiences by working closely with students who also share the same passion in medicine as I do. I want to be a part of a team that works to help students, like myself, figure out why they want to be in medicine through hands on experiences and medical-related service events. I am very enthusiastic about AED and its purpose to lead students interested in any pre-health professions and I would like to become a part of that team by running for AED Newsletter Chair.

I think I am qualified for this position because I am a very organized individual. As Newsletter Chair, things will get done on a timely fashion. I am very fluent in emailing and I check my emails several times a day, so I can always be reached. I want to help lead the future AED members by keeping everyone updated on events. I will do my best to network with various professors and health professionals to keep AED members informed about advice about medical school and research. I have become a very organized, reliable, and responsible individual because I was a student athletic trainer for three varsity sports in high school. Things needed to be done quick and in a timely fashion. Student reports needed to be filed and the correct head trainers needed to be kept in the loop about student injuries. I always knew what was going on because I attended and travelled with the teams. As a student athletic trainer, my communication skills and ability to accomplish different tasks have improved. If I am voted as AED Newsletter Chair, I will be sure to remain in good standing with fellow AED members, fellow Board members, and other faculty and health professionals. The bi-weekly newletters will be filled with good information regarding events and tips! Vote for me!
