The Staff

Underground Chitown is a web magazine put together by Loyola University Chicago students enrolled in "Communication 297: Writing for the Web," taught by Mr. John Slania. This semester was the first time the class was offered by Loyola's Department of Communication.

A group of students with different interests and backgrounds worked together to both design a useful, informative Web site, and to gain journalistic experience. The students produced all of the writing, photography and web design.

The purpose of the project was to highlight restaurants, clubs, community organizations and activities that aren’t well known. There are a lot of awesome places to go to in Chicago that don’t get the recognition they deserve, and Underground Chitown is the place to find out about them!
