Overview Loyola’s 1870 Orientation for freshman is a two-day program with a mandatory overnight component for all students. During orientation, you will be introduced to many of the programs and resources that are available to you as a Loyola student. You will also get to meet with an academic advisor and register for your Fall semester courses**. An Orientation Leader will guide you through the two-day program as part of a group with other freshmen students. Orientation Leaders are upperclass students committed to ensuring that you have a smooth transition to college and a fun two days on campus.

Honors program, Quinlan Business Honors and International Students are required to attend this session.
Orientation Fee The Orientation Fee is $350 per student. The fee includes all materials, food, two guest passes for the two-day program and additional program expenses. The Orientation fee is applied directly to the student’s fall tuition bill. On-campus lodging for parents/guests is available at an additional cost, or parents/guests may elect to join the program for meals and sessions during the day and find their own lodging for the evening.
Orientation Housing Freshmen Summer Program: All students are required to stay overnight in Simpson Hall on the first evening of the 2-day program. You will be paired in a residence hall room with another student attending 1870 Orientation. You will be provided with linens, towels, and a pillow.
Freshmen August 21-22nd Program: Students participating in the August 21-22nd Orientation program will move directly into their assigned residence hall space on August 20th. Students will not receive linens, towels, or a pillow. Overnight housing accomodations will not be available for commuter students participating in this program.
Orientation Registration Online registration for the 1870 Orientation programs is currently available at LUC.edu/undergrad/myaccount. Students must register online for their preferred program dates. It is important to note that spaces are limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The orientation registration requires a list of all family members attending the program.

These tentative schedules will provide you with an opportunity to review the 1870 Orientation Program Schedule. You will receive a personalized orientation schedule when you arrive at the program, but this should help you plan ahead for your orientation experience.
Parking The Parking Structure (P on the map) is located at the corner of Sheridan Road and Winthrop Avenue (the entrance to this structure is off the Campus Drive, accessed from the light at Sheridan Road and Kenmore Avenue). Freshmen Summer Programs: Check-in for 1870 Orientation will take place in Simpson MPR between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Freshmen August 21st -22nd Program: Students participating in the 1870 Orientation on August 21st and 22nd will move into their assigned residence hall space on August 20th. After moving into their assigned residence hall, students and their guests can complete check-in for Orientation in Sullivan lobby between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30p.m.
