"It is great to see our students thriving in their careers and lives."

Inspiring Confidence

Why do you teach?

Frequently, students will struggle with the material and sometimes become frustrated, but then they stick with it and a light goes on and they "get it."  I love to see that happen. Occasionally, when I'm rushing somewhere in the Loop, I'll run into a former student.  The student always seems much more confident. It is great to see our students thriving in their careers and lives.

Where do you work?

I am a supervising attorney at CARPLS Legal Aid.  CARPLS is a legal aid program that provides legal advice and brief services both over the phone and at various self-help desks in the courthouse.  I also help manage our summer law student volunteer program.

What advice would you give to students?

There are so many opportunities for paralegals.  Keep learning new skills, whether technology related or people related.
