"The Loyola classes were easy to fit into my schedule and I really liked the course offerings."

The Advantage of Flexibility

I left a job in retail to be a stay-at-home mother. When I decided to return to the workforce after 12 years I realized retail hours would not work into my family commitments, so I looked around for a new career. I had a friend who had recently graduated from the Loyola paralegal program and was working in the field and she encouraged me to try a class. I enjoyed the first class and decided to continue toward getting my certificate by taking 2 classes a semester. The Loyola classes were easy to fit into my schedule and I really liked the course offerings.

I thought I might do an internship my last semester to get some experience, but with the help of Loyola, I was offered a part-time job near my home before I finished my classes. A couple of years after finishing my certificate, I moved to a firm in Chicago where I have worked for over 15 years in the areas of commercial real estate, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.

I am now a senior paralegal. When we hire paralegals, I have noticed how much more prepared Loyola’s paralegal graduates are when compared with graduates from other local programs. The alumni support is also very valuable for job searching and professional development. I feel that Loyola gave me the skills to succeed in the paralegal field and would recommend the program to anyone who is looking at the paralegal profession.
