Students use their Universal ID and Password to login to their Blackboard account. This is the same login used for LOCUS and to access Groupwise email. Students should not use Blackboard as a means to check their registration, statements, or financial aid. This should only be done via LOCUS.
Blackboard is a communication tool between faculty and students. Faculty are asked to make classes available to students one week prior to the start of the session. Until the instructor has made his/her class 'available' you will not see this class listed on your Blackboard account. This does not mean you are not registered for classes. It only means that the instructor for the class has not made the class available.
Before your first class, you should access your available course materials and print out the syllabus, outline, and whatever else is needed for that first class. Please note not all instructors will make their classes available prior to the first class meeting. Students should frequently check Blackboard for class updates.
Besides the information provided on our website or via email to students, the Institute is also an organization on Blackboard. Textbooks, calendar, announcements, and other important links and policy information are shared with students via this online communication tool. Please be sure to check into the Institute's organization on Blackboard frequently to stay updated.
