James Harrington is Instructor in the Philosophy Department at Loyola University. He received a Ph.D. in Philosophy from The University of Illinois at Chicago for his dissertation, Local Time: Foundational Studies for a Theory of Relativistic Temporality. Prior to attending graduate school, he received a B.A. in The Program of Liberal Studies and a B.S. in Physics from The University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Harrington has particular research interests in the philosophy of physics, the philosophy of time, and the history of analytic philosophy. His work has appeared in such journals as Studies in the History and Philosophy of Modern Physics, Southern Journal of Philosophy, and American Philosophical Quarterly. He is currently working on a book manuscript based on his dissertation.
