David Yandell is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Loyola University of Chicago. He has taught at Loyola since 1993. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin — Madison. His areas of specialization include early modern philosophy and metaphysics. Areas of current research include 17th century metaphysics (especially regarding the mind-body problem), Descartes's ontology, philosophical naturalism, and the relation of a priori and a posteriori arguments. Dr. Yandell also has strong interests in ethics and political philosophy, in philosophy of religion, and in epistemology.
Dr. Yandell has published articles in such journals as the History of Philosophy Quarterly and the British Journal of the History of Philosophy.
