    The Presidential Search Committee and Isaacson, Miller, our search consultant, have made significant progress in the recruitment of the University’s next president. Chairman Bob Parkinson provided the campus community with an update on the committee's work to date and the proactive recruitment efforts that have occurred over the past couple months.

    Leadership Profile Established

    Members of the Loyola community gathered recently to participate in presidential search open forums held at the Lake Shore, Water Tower, and Health Sciences campuses. The dialogue at the forums, along with the feedback collected from our website and via e-mail, gave the Presidential Search Committee and Isaacson, Miller, our search firm, the additional information needed to develop a leadership profile for our next president.

    Search Firm Hired, Web, Open Forums

    In recent weeks, members of the Presidential Search Committee met with several national search firms to discuss the recruitment of Loyola University Chicago’s next leader. Chairman Bob Parkinson wrote the Loyola community today to announce that the committee has selected Isaacson, Miller. This well-established executive search firm out of Boston has the nation’s largest and most comprehensive higher education practice, with higher education searches accounting for more than half of the firm’s work.

    Members added to Presidential Search Committee

    Committee welcomes newest members: Vicki Keough, PhD, APRN-BC, ACNP, FAAN, professor and dean of the Niehoff School of Nursing, and Timothy Classen, PhD, associate professor of economics in the Quinlan School of Business.

    University's Presidential Search Process Launched

    This summer, the Board of Trustees has been working to officially launch the University's presidential search process to identify the next leader of Loyola University Chicago.

    Leadership Transition

    After 14 years of leadership, Michael J. Garanzini, S.J., will step down from his position as President and CEO of the University on June 30, 2015, and assume the role of Chancellor. John Pelissero, PhD, Provost and Chief Academic Officer, has been appointed Interim President, effective July 1, 2015.
