On July 24, a group of
research members, including Dr. Holmbeck visited Camp Ability. We had
the opportunity to meet many of you who greeted us with a series of
camp songs, followed by lunch and taking a group picture. Afterwards,
as many of you went to your bungalows, eight of us from Loyola went to
your bungalows just to see what most of you usually do during the
resting time. Here is what we found. Azure visited all-girl cabin where
she had great time being hairdresser and makeup artist as she assisted
a couple of girls who were preparing for their performance in the
upcoming talent show. On the other side of the camp, Deborah learned
all kinds of stuff from other group of girls as they shared interesting
stories about how they spend their time in the camp, like what they
have learned, what they hope to learn, and many other interesting stuff
that we of course cannot brag about now. Nichole, Cheryl, Colleen, and
myself happened to wander in bungalow # 10, the "boys-only" bungalow,
where we spent 20 minutes playing a card game, listening to music, and
really having a great time. Dr. Holmbeck and Sue stumbled into the
cabin that should have been called "laugh your heart out" cabin.
Apparently, they spent all 20 minutes hysterically laughing with a
couple of guys who were practicing their skits for the talent show.

Well, I have to say that
we were all a little sad to leave, because we had a great time seeing
all of you-some that we just met and some that we already knew. Even
though it was sad to say goodbye, we are looking forward to seeing all
of you back next year, and we are hoping that many of you are thinking
about registering for Camp Ability and will be there next year as well.
So for now, so long everybody, we will see you next year.
