The Loyola mini-MBA is a comprehensive management development program that provides cutting-edge business skills, coaching and leadership training to help propel your organization and your career forward.
To succeed in business, individuals must be able to see beyond their own functional area and understand how the organization operates as a whole. During this 10-week program, expert faculty expose participants to the key management levers that drive organizational success. The program begins by exploring how organizations develop and implement strategy. Then, core functional areas of business are explored – from marketing to finance to accounting – to provide participants with a solid understanding of each function and how it contributes to organizational success.
We also recognize that in order to succeed, individuals must understand how their own individual leadership and management styles impact their performance. This program includes a series of assessment tools designed to evaluate participants’ unique motivations, work styles, and conflict-management approaches. Each participant will have the opportunity to review their results in a one-on-one coaching session with a leadership development expert. The program concludes with a leadership simulation exercise and an interactive session on the balanced scorecard approach to management, in which participants develop a strategy map for an organization in order to integrate the key take-aways from throughout the program.
During this program, participants will:
- Strengthen overall business acumen and gain a better understanding of the key functional areas of business, including the frameworks, models and levers that drive organizational success

The mini-MBA program is designed for professionals who wish to improve their general business acumen, leadership skills, and career potential. Individuals with previous business training who want a refresher on the latest business practices will also benefit from this program. Program participants generally have substantial experience in one or more key functional areas of business. To benefit most from this program and to foster a rich exchange of ideas among a diverse group of peers, participants should have a minimum of several (typically 7 or more) years of full-time work experience.

Loyola Executive Education has developed the Strategic Alignment Map (SAM) process to apply this principle to improve the educational experience of individuals and organizations by:
- Producing a document for participants that summarizes their purpose or strategic goal for attending the program
- Identifying specific learning outcomes and how those outcomes align with their overall purpose for attending
- Identifying action steps or a plan for implementing the learning
- Providing a feedback mechanism to faculty regarding specific participant needs beyond the theoretical subject matter alone
Awarded to participants who fulfill the program’s attendance requirements.
For those individuals considering the Loyola MBA program: Participants who complete the mini-MBA program, and are accepted into Loyola’s Quinlan School of Business, may receive one elective course waiver for the Loyola MBA program. The course waiver requires the completion of an additional paper/project during the course of the MBA program. Current Quinlan School of Business students are not eligible.
