Here you will find information on leadership positions offered to students within the Department of residence life’s Central Office and the types of services the Student Office Assistants can offer you.

The Student Office Assistant (SOA) is an integral member of the Residence Life team, serving as one of the initial representatives of the department and Loyola University Chicago (LUC). The SOA works in the Residence Life central office, and is often the first contact to residents, parents, visitors, and persons outside the LUC community. SOA’s must demonstrate professionalism and customer service at all times, while also responding quickly and effectively to student needs and other situations.

We are currently looking for students to join the Department of Residence life as Student Office Assistants!

Student Office Assistants Support the department of residence life in four different areas.

Central Office: Assists with the administration and delivery of services for the LUC overall residence hall community, at the central office which is located in the Simpson Living Learning Center

Furniture Crew:  The Student Office Assistant -Furniture Crew (SOA-FC) serves primarily assists with the furniture inventory, upkeep and replacement in the various residence halls.

Housing Assignments Team: The SOA for Housing Assignments works in the Residence Life central office, assisting with processing documents related to housing assignments, exemptions and releases.

Operations Support: The SOA works in Residence Halls to maintaining computer and Audio Visual systems, updating the departmental website, and supporting the department’s social media initiatives.
