Located at the Water Tower Campus of Loyola University Chicago, Raymond C. Baumhart, SJ Residence Hall (or Baumhart Hall as it is commonly known) is an apartment-style residence with the capacity to house approximately 550 upper-class and graduate students. Residents enjoy a unique location in the heart of downtown Chicago just steps from Michigan Avenue and the famous “Magnificent Mile.”

All apartments have two bathrooms, a common living area, a kitchen with stovetop oven, garbage disposal, dishwasher, full refrigerator, and contain modular furniture. Four elevators serve all 20 floors. All residents have access to a workout room, terrace, laundry room, mailboxes, conference room, and other multi-purpose community space on the fourth floor. The Residence Life Staff Office is also located on the fourth floor.

The Terry Student Center is housed in the bottom three floors of the building, where students can access Water Tower Campus Life Offices, Ministry Services, and a chapel, as well as study space and additional multi-purpose community space. Terry Student Dining is also located in the Terry Student Center and is accessible to residents through the lobby of the Student Center.

Baumhart Hall is named after Raymond C. Baumhart, S.J., who served as president of Loyola University Chicago from 1970-1993. Baumhart also served as Dean to the School of Business Administration, and is a renowned sociologist who contributed much to the field of Business Ethics.
