Marquette Hall is named after Marquette University, a Jesuit institution of higher education located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Marquette University was named after Father Jacques Marquette, S.J., and is the largest private university in Wisconsin. Marquette University was founded in 1881 and enrolls approximately 11,600 students.

Marquette Hall was retrofitted in 2011 with sprinklers throughout the entire building. The hardwood floors and newly renovated kitchens are popular features of Marquette Hall. There is gated parking available to those who pay for a permit from Campus Transportation and access to the gate is granted by Campus Transportation. Students must enter Marquette Hall through the front gate and front door. Laundry facilities are located in the building.
