Move-In
Welcome to Loyola!
As you can probably imagine, moving over 4000 students into a densely populated urban neighborhood over a few days is quite a feat. Loyola University Chicago’s Department of Residence Life, with the help of our campus partners has developed a structured and efficient process that makes the move-in experience for students and their parents/guardians very easy. The key to our process is the assigned move-in days and times that each individual student will receive. Moving into your assigned residence hall at the correct time and being familiar with our “pre-move-in” tips for success, will help us move you into your space in 20 to 30 minutes.
When you arrive at your residence hall during your assigned move-in day and time, our staff and volunteers will check you into your hall, cart your belongings into your room, and direct you quickly to Welcome Week events on campus. Assigned move-in dates and times will be sent out towards the end of July with your final room assignment via e-mail. We encourage students to review the 2011-2012 roommate agreement, and contact their future roommate. In order to maintain a smooth and efficient move-in experience for the 4000 students living in our residence halls, we are unable to take requests for specific move-in times or dates. If you or a parent/guardian/family member require special accommodations (wheelchair accessibility, limited mobility), please feel free to contact our office so that we may assist you.
