Claudio Lodici is professor of political science. A former senior staff member with the Italian Senate, he worked in the Ministry of Budget (1982) and in the Ministry of Defense (1985-87). From 1987 to 1994 he was chief of staff to the speaker of the Italian Senate. From 1985 to 1989 he was vice president of the Atlantic Association of Young Political Leaders, Washington, DC.. He is Visiting Fellow of the Progressive Policy Institute, Washington, DC. His current writing and field research projects focus on comparative government. His latest book is a comprehensive study of the US government and politics. He is presently working on a study of the transition from apartheid to democracy in South Africa.
