About
James Stapleton graduated from the National University of Ireland Maynooth with a Masters Degree in Social Policy in 1994. Since then he has worked for a number of human rights NGOs in Europe and Africa, developing a particular expertise on the role of communications in promoting human rights activism. Based in Rome since 2004, he has held the position of International Communications Coordinator for the Jesuit Refugee Service, and began teaching human rights at the John Felice Center in 2011. Prior to joining JRS, James worked for the Irish Refugee Council, the African development NGO ENDA Tiers Monde, Amnesty International and the Institute of International and European Affairs. He also holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics and is fluent in French, Italian and Spanish.
