Tour of Monte Mario

The John Felice Rome Center, JFRC, is located in the upper Balduina district on Monte Mario, Rome's highest hill.  The JFRC's multi-level, residential complex is set in the midst of five beautiful acres of land.  The neighborhood is home to affluent diplomats, senators, judges and other distinguished families.

Pharmacy

If you are feeling under the weather and need to see a physician, The Rome Center offers on-campus consultation with an English-speaking Italian physician during two regularly scheduled hours each week during the fall and spring semester. The physician may examine students, write prescriptions, and/or recommend follow-up attention at private or state facilities in the area. The infirmary does not provide medication. Medication can be obtained easily at a local pharmacy. Students with chronic medical problems for which they routinely take an antibiotic should know the name of the antibiotic when they arrive in Rome. The physician can generally call in the prescription as long as the student knows the name of the antibiotic. Students who take regular prescriptions should talk with their doctor before traveling to Rome and if possible, take enough medication to last the whole time while abroad.

Neighborhood

The neighborhood of Monte Mario is very beautiful with lots of trees and greenery. Just by stepping out of the doors of the JFRC, students will have the opportunity to see local Italians living their lives.  The excitement of the city of downtown Rome is just a bus ride away!  After exploring and sightseeing, students return to our little oasis above the city on Via Massimi.
