Full Academic Year and Semester Programs

We invite you to apply for admission to the John Felice Rome Center.

Fall 2007-  We currently have more than a sufficient number of applicants to fill our campus residence hall.  Consequently, we are no longer accepting new applications for Fall 2007 or academic year 2007-2008.

Spring 2008 - We encourage qualified students to apply for Spring 2008 as early as possible as our Spring semester generally fills well before Thanksgiving each year.

Initial Application Instructions

To apply for admission to the Rome Center, the following documents are required from applicants:
  • A completed admission application (PDF)
  • A photocopy of the basic information page of the applicant's passport
  • An essay reflecting a thoughtful composition about your background, interests, aims and activities. You should incorporate into it the reasons why you want to study abroad and what you hope to gain in terms of personal development from a year or a semester at the Rome Center.

The purpose of the essay is for you to articulate your reasons for studying in Rome and specifically for choosing Loyola's Rome Center. Essays should not be longer than a single typed page (double-spaced) and will be judged on the clarity of your expression, originality of thought and maturity of perspective.

With your application, please submit the required recommendation forms to the appropriate individuals.

Recommendation Forms

Download each of the following recommendation forms, complete the student sections, and give them to the appropriate individuals. Individuals providing student recommendations should return the forms to the Rome Center office in Chicago.

Transcripts

Applicants also must submit official transcripts from each college or university attended, including summer sessions, whether or not academic credit was earned.
