Staying for an additional term
Current Rome Center students are welcome to stay for an additional semester or for the five week undergraduate Summer Session. It is important that students follow specific procedures when doing this:
Fall students who would like to stay for Spring Semester: Students need to decide by October 1 if they would like to stay for spring. Before this date, students should email Paula DeVoto at pdevoto@luc.edu confirming these plans. Students need to maintain a 2.75 GPA for fall and must also have the judicial recommendation form completed by the Associate Dean of Students at the Rome Center.
Spring students who would like to stay for Summer Session: Students need to decide by March 2 if they would like to stay for the summer session. Before this date, students should complete the application and send it to the Chicago Rome Center Office. Students need to maintain a 2.75 GPA in spring and should have staff at the Rome Center complete the required recommendation forms.
Spring students who would like to stay for Fall Semester: Students need to decide by May 1 if they would like to stay for fall. Before this date, students should email Paula DeVoto at pdevoto@luc.edu confirming these plans. Students should then reapply for fall by completing the application and having the appropriate recommendation forms filled out by. Students need to maintain a 2.75 GPA during spring semester.
All students who wish to stay for a semester or summer will need to speak with Todd Waller, the Associate Dean of Students at the Rome Center, as he will assist students in obtaining an extension for their permessi di soggiorno.
Visiting students should also contact their home institution about their plans to stay for an additional term!
