The Shareholder Advocacy Committee (SAC) will hold a University Community Meeting on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., in the Atrium, 4th Floor, located in the Information Commons on Lake Shore Campus (Pizza and beverages will be served). At this Community Meeting, the SAC will share its achievements in the past academic year, listen to proposals*, and hold open discussion.
Students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Loyola University Chicago, are invited to present their views regarding specific investment responsibility concerns. The SAC welcomes comments and looks forward to hearing from all members of the University Community. For this portion, the Community Meeting will be conducted as follows:
* Speakers are invited to submit written materials and questions to the SAC before the Committee Meeting, and are asked to focus their comments on the issue(s) of concern and to recommend, in his or her opinion, the action(s) to be taken. The Co-Chair of the Shareholder Advocacy Committee will preside over the Community Meeting. Speakers may address the Committee for a maximum of five (5) minutes each. Presentations may be followed by a brief period during which Committee members may ask questions of the speakers to elicit additional information or clarify statements made. The Committee will review all issues presented at the Community Meeting at its Committee meetings during the course of the AY 2011-2012, and will provide a response to those speakers and persons who submitted written material prior to the LUC Community Meeting.
PLEASE NOTE: All students, faculty, alumni and staff of Loyola University Chicago who wish to speak during the Community Meeting must complete the Contact Us page on SAC’s web site (and specify his or her University affiliation, and supporting documentation should be emailed to the Committee at loyolaSAC@luc.edu , no later than 5 p.m., on Friday, October 14, 2011.

About the Shareholder Advocacy Committee
In Spring 2007, the Board of Trustees of Loyola University Chicago, though the Office of Finance, established the Shareholder Advocacy Committee to engage with companies – through an approached centered on advocacy – in discussion concerning their practices and policies (e.g., letters of concern, inquiries); to join forces with other like-minded advocacy groups in initiatives to effect positive change; to advise on the voting of the University shares; and to serve the University as a resource for its information on advocacy issues, social responsibility, and corporate governance. The final decisions on these matters rest with the University investment administration.
