Bread Bakers

Bread Bakers

Purpose
By using bread baked by members of the congregation, the Body of Christ is truly created out of the "body" or community of believers.

Skills
The ability to bake and to follow the provided recipe is required.

Benefit
Baking bread for Mass is a way of making the eucharist more concretely "the work of human hands." Ministers also become aware of the need for us to constantly nourish one another.

Time Commitment
The bread takes approximately 45-90 minutes to prepare and bake.  The bread must be delivered to the chapel at least 30 minutes prior to the liturgy.  Bread may also be dropped off to the University Ministry Office in advance when prior arrangements are made.

Becoming Involved
We train and incorporate new bread bakers throughout the year.  Fill out the Becoming Involved In Liturgy Form to get started.
