Congratulations on your engagement! We are pleased that you are considering Madonna della Strada Chapel for your wedding celebration. We understand that you have questions regarding your wedding and we hope that we can be as helpful as possible. Below you will find some helpful information regarding weddings at Madonna della Strada. 

• Reservations are being taken for the calendar year 2010.
• Reservations for 2011 will be taken beginning in January of 2010.
• You can reserve a date by calling 773.508.8045.

Major Steps for Preparation:

1. MOST IMPORTANT- Download the wedding information packet, read it and agree to it in its entirety prior to making your reservation.
2. Make a tentative reservation for your wedding.
3. Apply for permission: Write all letters, fill out information forms, sign contract and return all items to Loyola University, Sacramental Life along with your wedding fee.
4. Receive approval for your wedding from the Archdiocese of Chicago and make your reservation firm.
5. Make music plans with the chapel music director.
6. Plan your wedding with your presiding priest or deacon.
7. Apply for your marriage license.

 How we help you in preparing for your wedding:

• Reserve your wedding date and collect and process all of your paperwork and permissions that are required  for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
• Set the policy for how the Chapel may be used and decorated for weddings. Information about chapel policies can be found in the wedding information packet.
• Provide a wedding coordinator who will assist at your rehearsal and wedding liturgy.
• Provide the service of the chapel music director to be the organist and the services of the chapel cantor as singer for your wedding and to aid you in choosing appropriate music and instrumentalists.

Paperwork Downloads:

Print the following items. Then sign and return or distribute the necessary forms and letters.

• Form letter for your presiding priest or deacon: found on page 19 in the wedding information packet.
• Photographer and videographer policies: contained on pages 17-18 in the wedding information packet.
• Decorating and florist policies: contained on pages 17-18 in the wedding information packet.

Those who can be married at Madonna della Strada:

• Currently enrolled students (part-time and full-time)
• Alumni
• Faculty
• Staff
• Trustees and Regents

At least one of the parties, bride or groom, must be Catholic. We cannot offer wedding ceremonies of other denominations or faiths.  The chapel is not available for "rent."
