On 9 November at about 1:30 AM one of our male students was walking east on Farwell at Sheridan when he was approached from the rear by a male African-American, approximately 25-35 yrs. of age.  The offender placed the student in a headlock and took his cell phone and wallet.  The offender then punched the student in the face and fled in an unknown direction. The student told the officers that he was not injured.  Campus Police and Chicago Police searched the area of the crime with negative results.  A CPD report was also made.  Follow-up by Campus Safety and Area # 3 Violent Crimes, CPD. There is no clothing description from this incident.

The 024th District has been contacted to request increased patrols in the area.
