Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act

Registered Sex Offender Information

The Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act of 2000 requires colleges and universities to inform students and employees how to learn the identity of registered sex offenders living on or near campus. This law contains the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act, which took effect October 23, 2002.

Sex offender information is compiled by the Illinois State Police. The State Police maintain a website that allows you to search their sex offender database online at: http://www.isp.state.il.us/sor/ . To learn the identity of registered sex offenders on or near campus, or anywhere in Illinois, visit the Sex Offender Database. Once there, you can search by city, county, or zip code.

You can also search the Chicago Police Department's Registered Sex Offender database at: http://12.17.79.4/  .
