How to Join

Loyola has a diverse and growing Greek presence on campus. All organizations are supported through the SAGA office. Because of our many organizations the recruitment or intake process can look different depending on the standards of each group. We encourage you to look at our information on recruitment knowing that it is also important to research the individual groups you are interested in.

According to Loyola policy, a student must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours at Loyola University Chicago or transferred to Loyola University Chicago with a minimum of 12 credit hours from another college or university (post high school graduation).  The student must also obtain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and be enrolled as full-time undergraduate student.

Interfraternity Council (IFC)

IFC fraternities have a structured recruitment process that is coordinated by the council.  The process will typically take place the first three weeks of classes each semester.

Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)

MGC utilizes a process called intake for new members.  It is organized by the individual chapters and the timing of the process is the discretion of each group.

Panhellenic Council

Panhellenic Council sororities have a structured recruitment process that is coordinated by the council.  Registration is requires in order to participate in Panhellenic Recruitment.
