Institute FOR Paralegal Studies Admission Requirements
For all applicants, the following admission requirements must be met:
- Education: bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Degrees from non-US institutions must be evaluated by a credentialing service (see below).
- Grade point average: a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Exceptions may be made in certain circumstances; applicants should address this issue in the personal statement.
- A completed admission application
- A $25 non-refundable application fee (fee waived for online application or previous Loyola applicants)
- Official transcripts from each college or university attended (waived for previous Loyola students)
- Two letters of recommendation
- A personal statement
- An interview is required before an admission decision is made. Please call (312)915-6820 to schedule an interview with the Director.
For international applicants, the following documents are required in addition to those listed above:
- Evaluations of international transcripts by an outside credentialing service. Applicants who have attended post-secondary schools abroad are required to submit their transcripts as well as a course-by-course transcript evaluation. Go to www.ece.org for information about this service.
- TOEFL scores. Non-native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in the English language with a minimum TOEFL score of 650 PBT/280 CBT/114iBT.
Failure to submit accurate and complete information in an application is cause for immediate dismissal from the Institute for Paralegal Studies.
