Professional Certificate Programs - application process

    We invite you to apply to the School of Continuing and Professional Studies and join a community of working professionals and full-time students who have chosen to advance their careers by pursuing a certificate program. 

        

    General Instructions

    Application Requirements

    • A $25 application fee (fee waived for online application) 
    • A completed application form
    • Official academic records from high school or the GED report and official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
    • A statement of purpose. A 350-500 word statement is required, double-spaced, typed.  Include the name of the certifice program to which you are applying in your opening sentence.  Continue the statement with addressing your reasons for seeking the certificate program, as well as how the program will help you meet your educational, personal and career goals.
    • A TOEFL or IELTS score report is required for applicants who are non-native English speakers. For the TOEFL, a score of at least 213 on the computer-based test or 550 on the written test is required. The minimum score for the new TOEFL iBT (Internet-based test) is 79. For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.5 is required.
    • International applicants, or U.S. applicants who studied abroad, are required to submit non-U.S. transcripts to an outside credential evaluation service. For the degree granting institution, the results of the evaluation must indicate that the non-U.S. credential is the a U.S. bachelor's degree level work. in order to be considered for admission to certificate programs.     Application Deadline

    Students may apply to begin any one of our five eight-week terms in August, October, January, March and June. Although admission is rolling, please allow a minimum of two weeks before the start of an eight-week session to ensure timely processing of the application.
