Second-Year Experience

Rising Second-Year Canoe Trip

Is your 1st year not what you expected it to be?

Do you feel confused about your major and why you are at Loyola?

The Outdoor Experience Reorientation is designed to provide students who are completing their freshman years with an opportunity to learn about themselves and others through adventure. While taking an 11-day trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area students will be asked to reflect on their first year at Loyola, learn about themselves, and to consider their commitment to their academic major or potential future careers. This wilderness expedition is not for students who have it all figured out, but those that do not feel fully invested in their vocational futures or those who are truly undecided. Additionally, no prior paddling or camping experience is necessary. However, a willingness to spend time mentally and physically preparing for the course is essential to success.
