Frank Wirth, Advertising Professional in Residence, joined the School of Communication in 2007. He teaches Principals in Advertising, Advanced Advertising Applications and Media Campaigns.
Wirth was a senior partner in a national consulting group, b2b Solutions, which specializes in the retail, convenience/retail, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceuticals, automotive and petroleum industries. His areas of expertise include client marketing, advertising and promotion management
and merchandising. Before joining b2b Solutions, Wirth was Chief Marketing Officer at investment management firm Roundtree Capital Corp., Santa Barbara, Calif., and a general manager at Amoco Oil Corp., Chicago.
Wirth has an MSJ in Advertising and Marketing Management from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. and a BA in marketing from DePaul University, Chicago, Ill. He has taught marketing courses at DePaul, Northwestern, North Park University, Chicago, and Benedictine College, Atchison, Kan.
He has also worked with and appeared before state and federal agencies (BATF) in regards to the sale and promotion of select tobacco and alcoholic beverage products. In addition, he has worked with groups such as MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) to help set standards and develop retail restrictions to insure that alcoholic beverages are sold in accordance with the law.
