Jamason Chen joined the School of Communication in August 2009 as the new Manager of Technology for SoC. Chen will be overseeing the the development of SoC's state-of-the-art studio, scheduled to open Spring 2010.

An ardent photographer Chen will be teaching photojournlism Spring Semester.

Chen most recently worked as staff in video solutions in the Office of Information Technology at the University of Minnesota and managed the digital media lab.  He brings a broad range of experience in both video and computer technology to SOC.     

Previously Chen worked as an instructor and engineer at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, for O’Connors Pte Ltd, also in Singapore, and as an engineer/producer at Shanghai Film Studios.  Jamason holds a M.A. in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in Computer Science from East China Normal University.
