The Master of Communication: Digital Media and Storytelling degree at Loyola is designed for post-baccalaureate students whose intentions are to enter professional markets with current and relevant skills putting stories into compelling narrative form through new and digital means. Our program gives you the opportunity to develop technical expertise while exploring different communications streams such as journalism, advertising, public relations, and documentary filmmaking. Courses take place at Loyola's Water Tower Campus in Chicago, a world-class city that is recognized as a leading communications and business district.
What Does the Communication Master's Program at Loyola Involve?
Loyola's two-year graduate program does not require that you completed your undergraduate degree in communications or media studies but prospective candidates should demonstrate an interest in digital media and/or storytelling in relation to:
- Public relations
- Documentary filmmaking
Here are some highlights of our MC in Digital Media and Storytelling degree program:
- A total of 36 credit hours—18 each in Foundations and Applications, expanding your knowledge and technical skills in non-fictional narrative
- Real-world curriculum equips students from diverse backgrounds with a broader, more in-depth skill set so that they can become productive members of communications teams in a variety of organizations
- A Capstone course that integrates learning from all coursework and culminates in a professional project that is widely distributed to the public
